Summoned From The Sheepfold - Week 2

Dear Girls,

I had to blog right after our session because I was bursting with the encouragement I received from our time together today!  I hope that you were too.  Sometimes, I tend to forget the "appropriateness" of God's Word and timing, and tonight Beth's words during the video spoke to direct areas of my life that just TODAY I was dealing with!  Isn't God amazing how he coordinates things in our lives like that?  I am blown away by it over and over. 

I wanted to touch on a few key points from our homework and video discussion that I'd like you to keep in mind as we go forward in our workbook this week.

  • Sometimes knowing God so intimately makes it harder for us to understand Him when He says "no" to a specific prayer.  We might think He shows up late but we must trust that He ALWAYS works for His Greater Glory.
  • In difficulty, He wants to reveal himself to us, and He wants us to draw on what we already know about him in those times so being intimate with Him is so important!
  • There are times when it is appropriate to fall at His feet and to just sit there.
  • Even loving God is a work that God must do through you!!

Finally, I've shared this with several of you but my least favorite question of the week turned out to be the most important one: 

  • Do you possess both qualities of tenderness and strength?  Think of the character of God first, then what we learned about David.  Then ask yourself that question again.

Be blessed this week as you continue to draw close to your Father and discover the kind of intimacy with Him that He desires for us.  May He continue to use this study to break our Hearts and mend it into a Heart Like His.
